Stevenson’s Sea View Hotel – pt 2

- James Stevenson‘s book, The Sea View Hotel, is a beauty. The illustrations are all B&W washed pen and ink, yet it feels like it was done in color. I thank Bill Peckmann for sending it to me, and here’s the second half of it. Go here to see the first half.

I love James Stevenson’s work. His drawings and washes feel relaxed, unstudied, and unfussy, yet is absolutely faithful to the form and spirit of whoever, and whatever, he draws. One dip of his brush tells us exactly the time of morning or evening and somehow even seems to tell us how warm or cold it is outside. He brings grace to everything he does—like a dancer who is beautiful just standing up from a chair.

A good cartoonist is a good storyteller and just as good as any good writer.

I think it would be really cool if you could try this again.
It would also be nice to see what other resources can compliment the goal you set for fundraising.

A friend of mine has a project on there, too. He exceed his goal and still has time to spare; it is an ongoing window. So maybe there are things you can do to adjust the project.
