Milt’s Alice – 3

- Here’s another scene animated by Milt Kahl for Alice In Wonderland. Alice’s tangled up with the flamingo trying to play croquet with the Red Queen. Sticky wicket.

The scene was loaned to me by Lou Scarborough. Many thanks are in order.

Here’s a QT movie of the action layed out above. Since the scene has been inbetweened, it’s exposed, for the most part, on ones.

Great stuff Michael, though it looks a little weird on ones. Thanks for sharing :)

Love the hard S shape in the eyebrow on 37. Also loving the charts, four in some case for every different part of her body. Mind is boggled!

Michael, thanks so much for posting these. It’s a very gorgeous, funny, underrated scene.

It’s interesting how the finger opens up, slowing into the straight pose everytime. Then one drawing of the finger curled, he did the same in the previous scene when Alice bangs the flamingos head on the ground, one drawing down then he slows into the raised birds head. Phil Nibbelink said that it’s like a bouncing ball and you should always have two frames at the bottom, no more no less?

Drawing 35 appears twice, 36 is missing.
Great to see all these images archived.

Thanks Luke. I’ve corrected the duplicate drawings, and 36 is correctly posted now.

    P.S. It’s a flamingo, not a crane…

I love this blog of yours :-)
